⨠Opening Reflection
Earlier this week, I had an incredible call with a client who was struggling with burnout.
We talked about his businessāno issues there.
We talked about his personal lifeāagain, no major concerns.
Then he paused and said quietly, āSomethingās missing.ā
Without even thinking, I asked, āHowās your spiritual life?ā
Because so often, when everything on the surface looks fine but something still feels off, the disconnect lies in ourĀ connection with God.
That simple question opened a door. He shared that heād left church years ago after feeling disillusioned by what he saw, people whose actions didnāt reflect the love and values of Christ. He wrestled with that disconnect and, over time, drifted away.
I hear this story often when faith comes up in coaching, the tension betweenĀ religionĀ andĀ relationship.Ā And itās something worth exploring more deeply another time.
But back to my client.
He smiled and said that just the day before, he had added aĀ learning BibleĀ to his Amazon cart. My heart smiled. God was already moving.
As we closed our call, I reminded him that while religion can guide us, it doesnāt replace a personal relationship with God. That connection is ours to nurture.
Moments like this remind me how intentionally God works in our lives. He places people in front of us, sometimes to teach, sometimes to encourage, and sometimes simply to remind us that Heās near.
And thatās what discipleship really looks like. Itās not always in a church or a classroom, itās in conversations, relationships, and moments where God quietly says,Ā āIām here.ā
That day, God placed me in the discipleās seat. Next time, it might be you. Because weāre all part of the same sacred pattern, being led, and then leading others, all by His grace.
š Scripture Highlight
āDraw near to God, and He will draw near to you.ā
ā James 4:8
Connection with God isnāt about perfection; itās about pursuit.
Every small step toward Him is met with His presence rushing back toward us.
š Living it Out
This week, make space to reconnectāspiritually, not just mentally.
Set aside 10 quiet minutes each morning to read or reflect on a verse.
Ask God to show you who Heās placed in your path this weekāand how you can be present for them.
Journal or pray about one area of life where something feels āmissing.ā
Remember: God often uses people, pauses, and even our restlessness to draw us back to Him.
šø Sacred Practice: A Moment of Stillness
This week, try this simple practice to help realign your heart:
Find a quiet space ā even just five minutes of stillness.
Take a deep breath and say softly,Ā āLord, Iām here.ā
Ask:Ā āWhere are You already working in my life?ā
Sit with that question, without rushing for an answer.
So often, gratitude grows out of awarenessāand awareness begins with stillness.
š Prayer
Lord,
Thank You for drawing us closer, even when we drift.
Thank You for placing the right people in our paths at the right time.
Remind us that connection with You is not a checklistāitās a conversation.
Open our hearts to hear You in the quiet,
and give us courage to follow where You lead.
Amen.
š Closing Encouragement
Sometimes whatās āmissingā is simply the space to listen.
And when we do, we realize God has been there all alongāworking through others, guiding gently, loving consistently.
May this week bring you reminders of His nearness and gratitude for every connection Heās using to shape you.
With peace and joy,
Tara
